Framework

The operation capacITECONS includes investments in equipment aimed at addressing shortcomings in the supply of essential technological services in the Central Region, in line with RIS3 Centro. In this way, Itecons will strengthen its research and innovation capacity, focusing on new testing methods aimed at studying innovative and more sustainable materials, construction systems and equipment, promoting business competitiveness.

Objectives

This project aims to strengthen the institute's research and innovation capabilities with a view to: Evaluating the ecological design requirements of solid fuel boilers (objective 1); Evaluating the fire reaction requirements of materials and construction systems (objective 2); Evaluating the stability and durability of materials and construction systems in simulated environments (objective 3); Evaluating systems susceptible to generating explosive atmospheres when subjected to varying hygothermal conditions (objective 4); Evaluating new production technologies and emerging technologies with application in the construction sector (objective 5); and Evaluating highly complex structures using drones equipped with motion and thermographic sensors (objective 6).

Thus, with regard to Objective 1, the intention is to build a new test bench, composed of a scale with high load capacity and precision, a gas analyzer system, a dust analyzer system, a temperature analyzer system, etc., that enables the evaluation of ecological design requirements for solid fuel boilers.

Regarding Objective 2, the acquisition of a gas sampling/analysis probe and a smoke exhaust system for the Single Burning Item (SBI) fire reaction system is planned, enabling greater responsiveness to requests for fire reaction requirement assessments of materials and building systems.

Regarding Objective 3, the acquisition of walk-in freeze-thaw, solar condensation, and climatic chambers is planned, which can be used in stability and accelerated aging studies of innovative materials and building systems.

Regarding Objective 4, the implementation of an ATEX System inside an existing large climatic test chamber on the Itecons premises is planned. Adapting an existing climatic chamber in the Itecons laboratories will avoid unnecessary investments. Regarding Objective 5, the plan includes the acquisition of scales with different technical characteristics, an ultrapure water production system suitable for use in microbiological tests, and thermostatic baths, which will be used in the evaluation of emerging technologies with applications in the construction sector.

Regarding Objective 6, the plan includes the acquisition of drones equipped with motion and thermographic sensors for the digitization of expert analysis processes for highly complex structures.

All new systems acquired within the scope of the operation will be implemented and operated by Itecons technicians with expertise in their respective technical and scientific areas, respecting the timeline presented in the project's descriptive report.
